Fictional Movie Poster
A fictional movie set in 1990's London, height of the electronic music and rave era, this documentary would show the in's and out's, dangers, and unforgettable nights, created by some of the most creative people in their entire generation.
SKETCHES
Initial sketches were intended to be full mockups for three variant designs, as a class we voted on each others sketches. The third one is what people enjoyed the most, with the title typography treatment of the neon sign on the first sketch. With this advice I started designing the first image rasterization which I would be editing to photo realistic standards
COLOR
Choosing colors that were common neon signs was imperative. The sign is the focal point and provides most of the lighting for the scene. These two colors are common, and have a hidden benefit of creating a tertiary purple color when blended together, in certain areas.
DIGITAL IMAGE PROCESSING
Below show the early versions of the poster in Photoshop, adding texture, trash, and images in a realistic manner to set the scene of the film. These preliminary digital sketches served as the basis for the rest of my project, experimenting with typography and textures in print and digital, the refinement process produced 16 variant posters throughout its creation.
