Fictional Currency Designs
The concept of this project was created during the "Brexit" scandal, and imagined bank notes if Scotland succeeded from the United Kingdom as well. Including figures like Robert Bruce, local resources, the first bank of Scotland, and their national animal the Unicorn.
SKETCHES
Very rough first sketches planning the layout, showing the different imagery and how it is significant to Scotland's history.

COLOR CHOICE
Working with such a saturated blue was difficult to not make the notes too dark, using a tertiary scheme including lighter colors was necessary for legibility. Using gradients to layer colors, reducing opacity creates a hyper-secure unique pattern that could not be used in counterfeiting.

TYPOGRAPHY
Sans-serif on the numbers for added legibility, contrasts the serif font. This is common solution across currencies where legibility and hierarchy are imperative, these fonts need to be legible to almost anyone, even not native speakers.

DIGITAL IMAGE PROCESSING
These images below represent how I combined vector art with color halftone images to achieve the final results.
